You have probably read the story of Two Frogs that fell into a pail of milk. Here is the simplest summary, for those who don’t know it:
Two frogs fell into a steep vessel of milk and couldn’t jump out. One of them thought it futile to waste energy in swimming; hopelessly, it drowned. The other one waited, swam around and the milk turned into butter. Pause to LOL. His swimming around helped in churning the butter. It got footing on the butter and jumped out. 2nd pause to LOL.
Moral of the story- Perseverance.
With all due respect to the moral of the story, I am screaming whatttt? Reading this was like listening to one of those good Bad Jokes. They are so bad that you can’t help but laugh at it. This story tries so hard, that you just have to accept it.
I am starting to forget the difference between waiting and persevering. All I know by now is that, it’s not necessary that there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. Because then, you are looking only for light. The point of the whole journey hence was probably that you made it to the end of the tunnel.
This is one such year. I hate that it involves crawling in darkness. I don’t even know if it is worth the effort at all. But all I have got right now is the echo of my own voice inside the tunnel and those of people reaching out, from their respective tunnels. Will there be a mound of magical butter that I can climb up on and jump out? I’d like that honestly.
